Chilean Cobalt is presently in the exploration phase of the La Cobaltera and El Cofre projects. The company objective is to scope, validate, develop and eventually move into production on the extraction of cobalt and copper on the mining concessions owned by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Baltum Mineria SpA, located in Chile. When production is achieved, the company would expect to sell concentrates and/or other forms of cobalt and copper to downstream refiners of those critical minerals.
Chilean Cobalt, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Baltum Mineria SpA ("Baltum"), owns 6,377 hectares of fully exploitable mining concessions in the San Juan Mining District in Chile. The majority of the mining concessions are unexplored (or only lightly explored) "greenfield" properties, however, smaller portions of the mining concessions are "brownfield" properties with historical relevance in the production of cobalt and copper. Chilean Cobalt continues to seek opportunities to further consolidate the district, into adjacent areas also comprised of both "greenfield" and "brownfield" areas.
