Is every OTC traded company eligible for overnight trading?
The securities traded during OTC Overnight will be rolled out in phases. These securities will be focused on the most active OTC equity securities that are DTC eligible, meaning they are able to clear and settle in the US and will include Canadian F shares.
What is the timeline for rolling out OTC Overnight?
OTC Markets Group launched OTC Overnight trading on September 12, 2024.
What are the trading hours?
OTC Overnight will provide trading from Sunday – Thursday from 8pm – 4am ET. Trading will also reflect US market holidays.
How will daylight savings affect trading hours?
OTC Overnight trading hours will continue to follow New York market hours of Sunday – Thursday from 8pm – 4am ET. There is change of an hour between Standard Time and Daylight Savings Time.
Who will benefit from OTC Overnight?
OTC Overnight provides Non-US investors (e.g. Asian time zones) with access to US OTC equity securities and International securities that cross-trade on our markets. The International security set includes European multinational companies along with high profile Asian companies. It also provides US investors with the ability to trade in the evening hours. For example, Australian investors interested in minerals and mining companies will have easier access to the Canadian securities that cross trade on our markets.
What is the benefit of OTC Overnight vs other after hour trading venues?
OTC Overnight provides access to our unique group of securities, including: Global large caps, international cross traded securities as well as US issuers not traded on a US exchange.
