The HyOrc engine is a zero emissions powertrain that runs on pure hydrogen and gives an impressive 45% efficiency, whilst offering ultra-low cost manufacturing, operation and maintenance. The HyOrc, which is suitable for heavy-duty mobility and stationary power production, uses a powerful combination of synchronised Hydrogen+Oxygen pulse-combustion chambers and an innovative & robust Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) turbine to produce unparalleled levels of efficiency, reliability and affordability. The HyOrc works on as low as 97% hydrogen purity, unlike fuel cells, which require a minimum hydrogen purity of 99.99%. The HyOrc produces no CO2 and no NOx unlike an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) running on similar hydrogen fuel.
